Tax Accountant

This individual and manages multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients. This position offers opportunities for leadership and career advancement to the right candidate.

Job Description

  • Preparation of federal and state income taxes for individuals, businesses, real estate, and exempt organizations.
  • Analyzes notices and prepares internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance and other documents for submission to the IRS, Treasury Department or state and local taxing authorities.
  • Manages multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
  • Performs tax research.
  • Prepares tax planning and estimates/projections.
  • Maintains good workflow and provides feedback for greater efficiency.
  • Recommends tax saving strategies to clients on engagements.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Prior experience in public accounting tax experience.
  • Experience preparing individual, business, real estate and exempt organization tax returns.
  • Tax (federal and state) research skills.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software, Excel, Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented & ability to multi-task.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Exhibits time management and organization skills.
  • Develops entrepreneurial approach to client service and good working relationships with client personnel.
  • Builds new and existing client relationships and demonstrates basic knowledge of clients’ businesses.
  • Develops means of communication to clients and persons responsible for maintaining relationship with clients.
  • Accepts volunteer positions in community organizations.
  • Continues to develop industry expertise.
  • Understands firm ethics and demonstrates them consistently.
  • Develops a broad general knowledge of economic, political, and business conditions.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Tax Supervisor/Manager

This individual leads and manages multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients. This position offers excellent opportunities for leadership and career advancement to the right candidate.

Job description/functions

  • Preparation and review of federal and state income taxes for individuals, businesses, real estate, and exempt organizations.
  • Builds new and existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business.
  • Analyzes notices and prepares internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance and other documents for submission to the IRS, Treasury Department or State and Local taxing authorities.
  • Trains staff, reviews and evaluates their work.
  • Manages multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
  • Performs complex tax research.
  • Prepares tax planning and estimates/projections.
  • Maintains good workflow and provides feedback for greater efficiency.
  • Recommend tax saving strategies to clients and staff on engagements.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA Certification.
  • 4-6+ years prior experience in public accounting tax experience.
  • Significant supervisory experience (2 years plus).
  • Experience preparing individual, business, real estate and exempt organization tax returns.
  • Tax (federal and state) research skills.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software, Excel, Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented & ability to multi-task.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Exhibits time management and organization skills.
  • Coordinates recruitment, orientation and training of tax related staff.
  • Develops entrepreneurial approach to client service and good working relationships with client personnel.
  • Builds new and existing client relationships and demonstrates basic knowledge of client’s businesses.
  • Maintains contacts with peers, develops network of business contacts, meets with prospective clients and cultivates referrals.
  • Develops means of communication to clients and persons responsible for maintaining relationship with clients.
  • Accepts volunteer positions in community organizations.
  • Continues to develop industry expertise.
  • Serves as a role model for other staff in reflecting firm values, procedures and service model.
  • Understands firm ethics and demonstrates them consistently.
  • Develops a broad general knowledge of economic, political, and business conditions.
