Assurance Staff Tax Staff
Duties & Responsibilities:

Development and coordination of audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon engagements.

Conduct independent audits for for-profit and non-profit clients, 401(k) audits, and single audits.

Investigate and determine causes of irregularities, and errors.

Recommend corrective action and suggest improvement.

Prepare reports.

Provide supporting workpapers and assistance to tax department to enable them to efficiently prepare the related tax returns of attest engagement clients.


CPA, or in process of obtaining credential.

4+ years of financial statement audit experience at a public accounting firm is preferred.

Public accounting experience must be recent, at most 3 years removed.

Proficiency in Excel and Word.



Client-centric attitude.

Experience working with privately-held clients is a plus.

Industry experience in manufacturing, not-for-profit, and government is strongly desired.

“Single audit” experience.

401k limited scope audit experience.

Ability to multi-task.

Proficiency in QuickBooks, PPC Practice Aids, and Workpapers CS or other electronic based audit software is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare federal and state income taxes for individuals/businesses/exempt orgs.

Analyze notices and prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence, etc. for submission to authorities.

Manage multiple clients, budgets, goals.

Perform tax research.

Prepare tax estimates/projections.

Maintain good workflow.

Recommend tax saving strategies.


Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA credential is a plus.

Prior public accounting experience is a plus.

Experience preparing individual, business, and exempt org. tax returns.

Tax (federal and state) research skills.

Strong accounting and analytical skills.

Proficiency in tax software, Excel, Word.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Detail oriented & ability to multi-task.


Client-centric attitude.

Time management/organization skills.

Develop good working relationships with client personnel.

Build new and existing client relationships, demonstrate basic knowledge of clients’ businesses.

Accept volunteer positions.

Continue to develop industry expertise.

Understand and demonstrate firm ethics.

Broad general knowledge of economic, political, and business conditions.
