Do You Want Tax Reform? Tell Your Congressman with Our 1040 Birthday Card

If you think the tax code needs to be simplified, you’re in the right place. Think about it: we’re CPAs and we want it changed—you KNOW it must be bad!

So here’s a fun way for you to express your opinion: send your favorite congressman our 1040 birthday card, and add your own note of why you think the tax code should be changed.

As you know from our home page, 2013 is the 100th birthday of the Income Tax, and in fact, the form 1040 celebrated its 100th year Oct. 3. For several months, we’ve been hosting our “Income Tax at 100: What Were They Thinking?” campaign; for background see our earlier blog.

The campaign included a birthday card contest, which we congratulate David P. for winning—congratulations, David! Our clients and friends voted to select the winner from among a handful of potential birthday cards sent to us by site visitors. Thank you to all who sent in cards and participated in the voting.

Now it’s up to you: download the card here (click on the image to open and print it), fold it as directed, write your note and mail it to your representatives and senators. Here are their addresses:

House of Representatives:

The Honorable____________

U.S.House of Representatives

Washington, DC  20515

U.S. Senate:

The Honorable____________

United StatesSenate

Washington, DC  20510

Tax reform is possible—but only if our elected representatives understand how important it is to us. Our cards are a fun and pointed way to send the message: change it now!

As we start planning for the 100th tax season, you can count on Patrick & Robinson CPAs to be here for you. Contact us now to ensure your tax season is as painless as possible: 904-396-5400 or …after you mail that birthday card!
